Non-urgent advice: Extended Access & Out of Hours
Sunderland Enhanced Access Service
If you can’t get an appointment with your GP or can’t get there during the day due to work or other commitments you can use the Enhanced Access Service.
Sunderland offers extra appointments seven days a week at your local out of hours site, alternatively it may be possible to arrange an appointment at another site across the city which your practice will arrange.

Out of Hours
Between 18:00 – 08:00 Monday to Friday, and from 18:00 on Friday to 08.00 on Monday, the surgery is closed. If you telephone the normal number during these times you will hear a recorded message giving you instructions to contact NHS 111.
NHS 111 will redirect you to the most appropriate service to deal with your problem.

Pallion Primary Care Centre
The centre provides a walk-in treatment service for adults and youngsters over two years old who may be suffering from relatively minor ailments such as cuts and bruises, sprains, sore throats, burns and scalds, dog bites and similar problems. Telephone NHS 111.
Bunny Hill Primary Care Centre
A minor injuries service also operates at Bunny Hill and the patients have the choice of which centre they attend. The unit is able to provide a range of services. Telephone NHS 111.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
